April 2020
Chicagoland Baptists,
This unexpected time has also brought unexpected blessings. One has been a chance for many of us to connect with and get to know each other better.
We plan to continue our weekly Pastors’ Prayer Calls on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Look for an email link every Tuesday. We’d love to have you jump on!
If you are getting and reading these emails, could you do us a favor? Please complete this quick, 3-minute survey. It will help us know who’s hearing us and let us hear you. Thanks!
Here’s someone to know about – Pastor Bruce Kirk. When Bruce joined Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in Bolingbrook as a new believer in 1990, he went through a 36-week discipleship training program under the ministry of Pastor William Marvin Rorer. Now he is the Senior Pastor and the church is continuing to make disciples. Pastor Kirk is married to “the most special of ladies” – Michelle Renee – and is the father of five adult children and nine beautiful grandchildren. He praises God that during this season of physical separation they are still seeing spiritual connection. He asks that you pray that Alpha would continue to reach the Bolingbrook community… and the uttermost parts of the world by preaching and teaching the gospel. You can connect with Pastor Bruce on Facebook and watch him ‘Live’.
Here are some events to know about –
· All in-person IBSA events are cancelled through at least June
· The Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Orlando has been cancelled
· Our Annual PRIORITY Women’s Conference (April 24-25) is going online! It’s free, but registration is required – www.IBSA.org/Priority
· In case you’re looking for more webinars to do, check out www.IBSA.org/leadershipdevelopment and www.IBSA.org/church-helps
Here’s something else to know about – By cooperating with IBSA, your church has the North American Mission Board at your service to help you plant new churches, do compassion ministry, and get the gospel into campuses and other hard to reach places in our city. If you have someone you want to send to start a new church, NAMB can help with assessments, funding, coaching, and much more. Another benefit of being part of a larger network of churches!
And if your church is struggling financially right now, find out how IBSA and/or the CARES Act might be able to help you.
You’re not alone. We’re here for you. Reach out if we can help with anything!
