Chicagoland Baptists,

To join the Prayer Call tomorrow (3/26) at 9:00 AM, click here (or dial 331-218-1983 | Conference ID: 676 499 496#).

You can go here for news and information about the response to the Ukrainian crisis by IMB and Send Relief.  It is updated daily right now and is quite extensive.  It also has ways you can pray and give.

Here is someone to know about – Pastor Harold Parsley.  Harold is an Army veteran and was in the Occupation Forces serving in Europe at the close of WWII.  He became a Christian in 1957 while working as a realtor, a profession he has maintained throughout his bi-vocational pastoring career.  He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, attended Golden Gate Seminary (now Gateway), and has been pastoring since 1963!  He has served churches in California, Oregon, and several in Chicagoland.  For the last 14 years he has been the pastor of First Baptist Church of Tinley Park.  He and his wife Lydia currently live in Channahon and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer.  They have 2 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild with another on the way.  Their son is a chemical engineer and their son-in-law is on staff at the Illinois Baptist Children’s Home.  He has plenty of stories to tell of God’s faithfulness!  You can reach him at hpar@sbcglobal.net or 815-258-1357.

Here are some events to know about –

  • There’s free virtual VBS Training on 3/26.  Register here.

  • The CMBA Prayer Bus is back on 4/16!  Jump on here to tour 4 different ministry sites in Chicagoland and pray.

  • The IBSA Priority Women’s Conference is 4/29-30.  More info here.

  • Want to bring the whole family to the SBC Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA, 6/14-15?  You can get discounted Disney tickets here.

  • You can now register for the Chicagoland Camp at Streator 7/28-30.  Timothy Bell of World Deliverance will be the Camp Director.  We’re hoping to get a bunch of kids (grades 3-12) from our churches out there!  Chicagoland Baptists only pay $25 (go here put in the discount code: Chicagoland2022)!

Here are some other things to know about – Take your children on a grand missions adventure with Missions Journey: Kids, a missions discipleship curriculum for children in grades 1–6 devloped by WMU that focuses on missions work both here in the US and throughout the world.  A great way to get ready for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

Have you heard of TechSoup?  It’s a way for nonprofits to buy tech at significant discounts.  For example, until 4/3 you can get Microsoft Office for just $36!  Need help getting nonprofit status?  Check out Launch My Nonprofit.

Oh, and pray for our brother Adron Robinson as he is the newly-named chair of the SBC Executive Committee President Search Team.

In Christ,
