Next week the Democratic National Convention is coming to Chicago. Not only will there be an influx of delegates and media personnel, but we are also bracing for thousands of protestors. Let’s pray for the peace of our city (Jeremiah 29:7).
Pastor Ryan Hall of Anchor Church Palos has an evangelistic ministry called Find God Again. He’ll be seeking to share the gospel at Millennium Park on Monday. Reach out to him if you want to join!
Here is a church to know about – Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church
Pray for one of our Chicagoland Baptist churches – Pilgrim Rest. In the picture below you can see that they are located right next to the United Center, which is the main site for the upcoming DNC. Due to security measures, they will not be able to meet there this Sunday. The church was founded in 1928 and has been meeting in its current building since 1949. Al Lloyd has been their pastor since 1993. Pilgrim Rest is a great example of a church that has seen multiple generations of multiplication. For example, check this out: they helped to plant Broadview, which planted Alpha, which planted Love Fellowship. Praise God for the legacy of Pilgrim Rest and pray for them to continue to be a bright light in that changing community!
