Things to Know (January)
It’s cold out there! As you’re dreaming about summertime, consider planning to come with other Chicagoland Baptists to ‘pay it forward’ at the Serve Tour in Flint, MI, 8/9-10.
As you know, one of our goals for 2024 is to help facilitate relationships among Chicagoland Baptists women. Yesterday 10 ladies gathered for lunch and to connect at our first Women’s Hangout. We’ll be doing it again on 2/19 in the evening for ladies that couldn’t make it during the day. And 3/2 is the Women’s Conference. And we’ve reserved the Garfield Park Conservatory on 9/28 for a big event!
Here is someone to know about – Qusai Mahmud.
Q is a life-long Chicagoan. He has been married to Denise for 33 years and together they have 7 adult children. Q has been a church planter and is currently serving as a pastor at Reborn Community Church. He is very excited about his brand-new role as the Director of Send Relief’s Chicago Ministry Center! Q is passionate about discipleship. And he loves working together with pastors, churches, and other like-minded organizations to see the gospel change the lives of the many in Chicago.

Here are two more things to know about –
Are you looking for a side hustle? One of our church planters – RT Maldaner – has started a company called Workplace Wellness Group. It exists to employ gospel-centered pastors to deploy them on mission in the marketplace. They come alongside companies to provide coaching of employees so that they become increasingly healthy in mind, heart and life. Workplace Wellness is unashamed about Jesus as our motive and methods and Master coach. It trains all the coaches and compensates them well for a simple 5-10 hour-a-week opportunity. RT is looking for more pastors to train and deploy. Email him here.
Any college or seminary students in your church that could use a scholarship? Applications for the BFI Scholarship are due by 4:30 PM on 1/31. More info here.
