Things to Know (January)
The monthly newsletter highlighting what's happening among Chicagoland Baptists
Happy New Year! We have created a schedule to make sure every Chicagoland Baptist church gets prayed for by all the other Chicagoland Baptist churches in 2025. Check it out here. We hope your church has started doing this in your gatherings on Sundays. We will continue to send out the next churches to pray for in ‘A Quick Word’ every Tuesday and post on the Facebook Group. What a great way to help your churches know they are part of something bigger than just them and to be part of what God is doing across Chicagoland!
Here is somewhere to know about – Bridgeview
This month we’ve been praying for churches in the southwest suburbs. Here is a map of all the Chicagoland Baptist churches. You’ll notice that we don’t have any churches in the southwest suburb of Bridgeview. The Village of Bridgeview is home to over 17,000 residents and the 20,000 seat SeatGeek Stadium. Bridgeview also has a 1,500 seat Mosque Foundation that is filled for two services on Friday nights. Along Harlem Avenue you can find yourself in “Little Palestine,” the cultural epicenter for Cook County’s 18,000 Palestinians, the largest Palestinian community in the U.S. Pray for the advance of the gospel and more healthy churches in this part of our vast mission field!

Here is something else to know about –
The Baptist Foundation of Illinois (BFI) is a place where you and/or your church can invest your money and invest in the kingdom at the same time! Current rates for short term investments are at 3.5%. 1-year bonds are yielding 5%. And while your money is there, it’s being loaned out to other Illinois Baptist churches!
If you know of a college or seminary student in your church, BFI also gives out a Scholarship, but you have to apply by the end of this month!! More information here.
