This newsletter now comes to you from the newly rebranded Chicago Metro Baptist Association (CMBA), your local association headquartered right here in Chicago. We’ll be calling ourselves Chicagoland Baptists (more on the new name in months to come).

We have a new logo –

And a renewed mission to facilitate relationships among the churches of our great city! We trust the Lord for great things to come.

Here is someone to know about – Pastor Kevin Williams

Although he was born in Chicago, Kevin grew up in the suburb of Maywood. He has been married to his college sweetheart – Loretta – for 31 years and they have 3 adult children.

Pastor Williams has been in ministry for almost 31 years and for the last 12 years has served as the Lead Pastor at the Second Baptist Church of Wheaton – a multi-generational, African-American congregation. Kevin is proud to serve as 1 of only 8 pastors to the lead the church in its 115-year existence.

Pastor Williams is committed to preaching the gospel message with life application. He has a passion for academic excellence. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. And he and his wife also started a trucking business in 2017 called Bethel Transportation. You can reach out to him here.

Here are some events to know about –

We have a Prayer Call every Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Just click here to join (or dial 331-218-1983 | Conference ID: 844 262 125#).
The first Wednesday of every month from 9:00 to 10:00 AM we turn those calls into a Discussion around a relevant topic. On 7/6 we’ll be talking about “What Makes Chicago Unique for Ministry?”

Here is something else to know about –

Through a partnership with SEND Relief and World Relief, we have an exciting opportunity to fill up 200 backpacks for refugee students before they start the school year here. By providing these backpacks, we hope to help ease the transition process for refugee families while also providing opportunities for local churches to get connected and build lasting relationships with the families they serve.
