Earlier this month we had our annual Women’s Conference with over 180 in attendance. Speakers talked about what it means to be on the battlefield for the Lord. Last month we had our annual Prayer Bus Tour which started up at Golf Road (Pastor Gary Houdek) early in the morning and then went to Empowerment (Pastor Maurice Gaiter), Iglesia Misionera North Avenue (Pastor Jorge Melendez), and Uptown (Pastor Nick Kim). Some people just joined us on site. Many prayers were offered up for these churches, their communities, and the broader Chicagoland mission field. Let’s see what God has in store!
I’m reminded of the famous Oswald Chambers quote – “Prayer is not a preparation for work; it is work. Prayer is not a preparation for the battle; it is the battle.” I hope your church is praying on Sundays for the other Chicagoland Baptist churches this year. You can see the schedule here.
Here is somewhere to know about – Tinley Park
This Sunday we’ll be praying for First Baptist Church of Tinley Park (Pastor Harold Parsley). Tinley Park is a southwest suburb that is doing well economically, but still has deep spiritual needs. Home to over 55,000 people and few gospel-preaching churches, Tinley Park is perhaps best known for its Credit Union 1 Amphitheater that seats 28,000 people for concerts. Pray that Jesus would be famous in this part of Chicagoland!
