If you are looking for a prayer guide to use in your church in light of the recent horrific events in Israel and Gaza, here is a helpful one.

It’s been 20 years since our Bylaws were last updated. On 11/13 at 6:30 PM at the Rockwell the Administrative Council will be meeting to vote on amending the Bylaws. This meeting is open to any Active Churches in the association. You can view the proposed changes here. Any questions in advance can be directed to Pastor Jon Pennington (jon@chicagolandcc.org).
Here is someone to know about – Associate Pastor Mark Jones.
Mark was born in Chicago and grew up in the Uptown neighborhood. He came to know the Lord through the historic ministry of Uptown Baptist Church and it’s there that he met his wife of 30 years – Mary Ellen. Together they have two children – Sarah and Matthew. He has served in ministry at UBC for 23 years. He holds a MA in Missiology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. As Associate Pastor Mark continues to help carry forward UBC’s vision of being a real church, of the real God, to the real world.

You absolutely won’t want to miss 11/1!!! We will be having Raymond Flanks share his story of being locked up for 39 years for a murder he didn’t commit and we’ll talk about remembering those in prison.
Upcoming Pastors’ Lunches for fellowship:
The All Church Equipping Conference (ACEC) is 10/20-21 at Hillcrest. Pastor Emeritus James Meeks of Salem Baptist Church will be preaching Friday night. Saturday morning will be filled with breakout sessions for your ministry leaders. Register here.
The IBSA Pastors’ Conference and Annual Meeting is in Marion, IL, this year (11/7-9). Register here.
Please plan to come out to the Annual Meeting for Chicagoland Baptists on 11/18 at Brainard Avenue. Register here. Breakfast is served at 8:00 AM. The meeting will adjourn at 10:45 AM.

Lastly, for our Spanish-speaking brothers, if you’re interested in growing as a communicator of God’s Word and be encouraged in pastoral ministry, Pastor Victor Loera from Iglesia Ciudad de Gracia is starting a cohort that you’re all welcome to join. This cohort will focus on three main areas: understanding the role of the pastor, growing in the task of expository preaching, and encouraging one another through fellowship.
