In 18 days we will have a new President-Elect. But our Lord will still be on his throne. And our mission across Chicagoland of preaching the gospel, planting churches, and providing discipleship in our churches will still be the same. May we keep our perspective and help our people to stay focused on Christ’s everlasting kingdom during these times, so we don’t get tossed to and fro by the waves.
In a word, what we need is maturity (see Ephesians 4:13-16). And that is the theme for this year’s ACEC. Come on out tonight for a Minister’s Round Table followed by a panel discussion with Drs. Kevin Cosby and Mark Croston! Tomorrow morning there are 15 different breakout sessions designed to equip the saints.

This year the IBSA Annual Meeting is coming to us!! It will be at Ashburn Baptist Church in Orland Park 11/12-13. And it’s going to be different. It’s more compact with more preaching and breakouts led by nationally known speakers like Brian Croft, Mark Croston, Jeff Iorg, Rob Peters, and others (plus some locals). Let’s take advantage of this being so close. You can find out more information and register here. You can also watch short promo videos called “The Road to Ashburn” here.
This year the Chicagoland Baptists Annual Meeting will be a banquet during the dinner break on Tuesday evening (11/12) at the IBSA Annual Meeting. We will have Famous Dave’s BBQ, tell stories of what God has been doing among us this year, talk about what’s ahead, and conduct the necessary business. Bring people from your church to hear about and celebrate the work of God among Chicagoland Baptists. Just let us know you’re coming here so we have enough food.
And then on Thursday (11/14) IBSA is asking people from downstate to stick around and join us on a mini Serve Tour. There are several ministry projects and prayer tours available. Pray this would be a great day of opening doors for the gospel in our city! And consider participating in person and/or by bringing items to donate for the Boxes of Blessing collection. More info on all that here.
It will be a great week for Chicagoland. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
